Title: Views on UE Features for LP-WUS
Document for: Discussion/Decision
|
Conclusion
The following proposals summarizes the discussion in this contribution.
Proposal 1: Combine component 2 and component 4 of X-1 in RAN1#120 agreement as “The support of LP-SS based synchronization and RRM measurement for serving cell”.
Proposal 2: Component 3 of X-1 in RAN1#120 agreement may be updated as “The support of RRM relaxation of UE MR for serving and neighbor cell measurements”. However, it may also be considered as a separate feature group which is “Optional without UE capability signalling” and has FG X-1 as pre-requisite.
Proposal 3: For the note on component 5 of X-1 in RAN1#120 agreement, consider “candidate values: {[70ms], [500ms], [900ms]} based on SSB periodicity of 20ms and {[3], [5], [5]} SSBs for synchronization.” initially until RAN4 confirmation.
Proposal 4: Consider a component for X-1 in RAN1#120 agreement on the supported values for M as follows “The support for values of M=1,2,4 for 15kHz and 30kHz SCS. FFS: M values for 60kHz and 120kHz SCS”.
Proposal 5: Consider the FG X-1 in RAN1#120 agreement as a prerequisite to FG X-1a given that the OFDM LP-WUR may still use the OOK signal to receive the LP-WUS information decoding when the overlaid OFDM sequence(s) does not carry information.
Proposal 6: The type from the FGs in RAN1#120 agreement, on LP-WUS operations support, should be defined based on a “Per Band” granularity.
Proposal 7: The candidate values for component 2 of the X-2 FG in RAN1#120 agreement can be {option 1-1, option 1-2, option 1-1 or option 1-2}.
Proposal 8: The candidate values for component 3 of the X-2 FG in RAN1#120 agreement can be {0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 10, 20, 30, 40}ms.
Proposal 9: Consider a component for X-2 in RAN1#120 agreement on the supported values for M as follows “The support for values of M=1,2,4 for 15kHz and 30kHz SCS. FFS: M values for 60kHz and 120kHz SCS”.
Proposal 10: Consider the FG X-2 in RAN1#120 agreement as a prerequisite to FG X-2a given that the OFDM LP-WUR may still use the OOK signal to receive the LP-WUS information decoding when the overlaid OFDM sequence(s) does not carry information.
Proposal 11: Adopt the updated FGs for Rel-19 LP-WUS in Appendix B.

Title: Discussion on Rel-19 UE feature of LP-WUS in NR
Agenda Item: 9.15.5
Document for: Discussion and Decision
|
Conclusion
In this contribution, we have discussed the UE features for LP-WUS/LP-WUR triggering UE wakeup in NR for UE power saving with proposals as follows,
Proposal 1: The UE support of RRM measurements with relaxation for entry/exit condition of LP-WUS monitoring and RRM measurement offloading should be the component. The support of wakeup delay indication should be included in the component since the transition time from the power saving state to the NR operation state is different for LP-WUS receiver.
Proposal 2: The RRM measurements of LP-WUS OFDM receivers should not include the component of measurements based on LP-SS or SSB.
Proposal 3: The LP-WUS OOK receiver should support all specified M-values without UE capability
Proposal 4: The candidate value of minimum gap between the reception and PDCCH monitoring for UE in CONNECTED state should have candidate value 20 ms.
We proposed to use Table 1for the UE feature for LP-WUS/LP-WUR triggering UE wakeup in NR for UE power saivng.

Conclusion
In this document we suggest the following modifications to the LP-WUS UE features agreed in RAN1#120:
Proposal 1: Adopt the following modifications to FGs 62-1 and 62-1a
FG 62-1a name: Remove the word ‘overlaid’, as the sequence is a sequence, there is no different sequence or different FG for support of OFDM sequence that is not overlaid.
Component 2: Confirm the component: remove the square brackets, the text marked as deleted, and the yellow highlight.
Component 2 in FG 62-1a: Support of both SSB and LP-SS based measurements.
62-1a Component X: Confirm the component
Component 3: Clarify the description and confirm the component, and avoid specific references to a receiver type
Component 4: Confirm the component, clarify that this refers to the UE’s support for being configured with the measurement offloading
Component 5: Confirm the component. The candidate values need to be defined within the work item agenda.
FFS M values: Make this a component 6, with M values 1, 2 and 4 supported.
FG type: Make the FGs ‘Per Band’
Proposal 2: Adopt the following modifications to FGs 62-2 and 62-2a
FG 62-2a name: Remove the word ‘overlaid’, as the sequence is a sequence, there is no different sequence or different FG for support of OFDM sequence that is not overlaid.
Component 2: Confirm the component, add candidate values {1-1, 1-1 and 1-2} and clarify to what the procedures refer to.
Component 3: Confirm the component. The values to be defined within the work item agenda.
FFS: M values: Make this a component 4, with M values 1, 2 and 4 supported.
FFS: SCS: Remove the component
FG type: Make the FGs ‘Per Band’
FG 62-2a consequence if not supported: Remove the word ‘overlaid’, as the sequence is a sequence, there is no different sequence or different FG for support of OFDM sequence that is not overlaid.

Conclusions
In this contribution, the following proposals are made:
Proposal 1: Keep baseline UE features structure as agreed in RAN1#120. Any further decoupling should be justified to avoid further fragmentation of capabilities.
Proposal 2: LP-WUS operation in IDLE/INACTIVE and CONNECTED mode based on OOK signal features should be baseline:
Pre-requisite relationships for above operations should be added for the associated LP-WUS operation in IDLE/INACTIVE and CONNECTED mode based on OFDM sequence.
Proposal 3: The granularity reporting of LP-WUS features should be “Per band” with the following note:
Note: LP-WUR should support the same bands as the UE main radio.
Proposal 4: Update LP-WUS UE features according to Annex of this contribution.
